About Us

In  1998, I left a respected Atlanta firm to dedicate my practice to  representing employees who had been subjected to discrimination in the  workplace or whose contractual rights had been denied.  Since then I  have focused my practice on disability discrimination and the right to  take and return from medical leave.  I also continue to represent  employees  who have been discriminated or retaliated against because of their age, national origin, race, religion and gender, and to assist employees in obtaining the wages and benefits to  which they are entitled by contract or law.

In the area of disability discrimination, I strive to provide my  clients with the information they need to advocate for themselves in the workplace, to obtain the accommodations or medical leave they need to  continue to be productive, or to explore the benefits available to them should they be unable to continue to work  in their current  jobs.

I  speak and blog often about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and about the interplay between  employees' rights to reasonable accommodation under the ADA, to full time, intermittent and reduced hours leave under the FMLA and to short term  and long term disability and health insurance  benefits under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and other  provisions of Georgia and federal law.  As an ADA - Disability Discrimination and FMLA attorney , I can help you identify and pursue your legal rights and remedies.

I am a past President, Member of the Board, and past EEOC-Liaison-Committee Chair for  the National Employment Lawyers Association's Georgia Affiliate, (NELA-GA), a  civil rights bar association that advocates  for employee rights.

Prior to establishing my own office, I worked at Rogers & Hardin, LLP in its civil litigation department. I received my B.A. from Cornell  University in 1983 and my J.D. with distinction from Emory University School of Law in 1987.
